5 days desert tour starting from Marrakech to Chefchaouen (BLUE TOWN)
This trip is so special, you will depart from the red city (Marrakech) to the blue city (Chefchaouen). Such an interesting tour since you will have the opportunity to visit the beautiful city of Fez, the great Sahara and the 1000 kasbahs, a tour that you won’t forget!
Day 1: Marrakech – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley
Prepare to leave your hotel in Marrakech at 8:00 am in the direction of Ouarzazate through the wilderness of the High Atlas Mountains. You will then visit the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, the kasbah used in several popular films.
You will stay at the Kasbah to have lunch and rest for a while, then you continue the road to the Dades Valley through the thousand kasbahs. And if you want to buy a souvenir of Morocco, you will not find better than roses at Kalaat Mgouna. At the end of the day, you will settle in a riad in the Dades Gorge where you will have dinner and spend the night.
Day 2: Dades Valley – Todra Gorge – Merzouga Dunes
Once you’ve had breakfast, you’ll leave the premises in a 4×4 and head for the monkey toes. The road that connects the Dades Valley and the Todra Valley preserves you an incredible view!
You will continue the road to Erfoud and Rissani to eat and taste the delicious Berber meals, you will then head to Merzouga to enjoy a camel ride in the dunes of Erg-Chebbi.
Day 3: Merzouga Desert – Ziz Valley – Cedar Forest – Fez
Don’t miss the sunrise! Once you’re awake, you’ll set off for the village of Merzouga by camel through the dunes of Erg Chebbi. Don’t forget to put your hats on to protect yourself from the sun!
You will then return to the riad for breakfast and get ready to head to Fez. Another type of nature that you will see on the road between Merzouga, Errachidia, Gorges du Ziz, the Tizi Ntalghmat pass and Midelt. You will stop in Zaida to rest and drink tea, then you will cross the Middle Atlas Mountains to reach Azrou and then Ifrane.
Day 4 : Visit Fez
You will wake up a little tired but the visit that follows is a must, you will spend the day in Fez. This imperial city is splendid, you will start the visit with the old medina where you will find lots of souvenir gifts. You will not miss the oldest mosque in the world “Al Karaouine” where you can take pictures.
Still in the Medina, you will have lunch and then you will continue the visit of the famous places of Fez : Mellah, Royal Palace, Batha, Boujloud…You will return to the riad at the end of the day to sleep.
Day 5 : Fez – Ouazzan – Chefchoauen
You will leave Fez early in the morning to go to Ouazzan and then to Chefchoauen. The way is long but you will stop several times to rest, many places are to be discovered along the way. You will have a good time in the blue alleys of Chaouen and you will have a good traditional lunch, why not a tagine!
You will finally be able to rest at the hotel and relive the good times spent in these 5 days of travel between Marrakech and Chefchaouen.
