12 Days Desert Tour Casablanca Merzouga

DETAILED DESCRIPTION :

This tour is a bit special since you will visit several cities during 12 days, a very nice experience to meet different landscapes and cultures even if you are in the same country, Morocco.

Day 1: Arrival in Casa

Once you arrive at Casablanca airport, a professional driver will be waiting for you with a comfortable and air-conditioned vehicle. You will be able to rest in a hotel where you will spend the night and get ready for the adventure.

Day 2: Casa – Rabat

Get ready to visit Casablanca after your breakfast, the city is very big but the guide will show you the most beautiful places. Your tour of the city will start with the Hassan II mosque, which, although it was built at the end of the 20th century, is one of the most beautiful Islamic complexes of all those that populate the African continent. It is built on the sea on an artificial peninsula, has a gigantic minaret 172 metres high and stands only above the sacred sanctuary of Mecca.
You will then take a walk on the cornice of casa and visit Lehbous, an interesting place to shop and drink mint tea. You return to the hotel for lunch and prepare to leave Casablanca and head for Rabat, where you will spend the night.

Day3: Rabat – Tangier

You will wake up in the capital of Morocco, have breakfast and leave to discover Rabat. On the south bank of the Bu Regreg River as it prepares to throw itself into the Atlantic, a small medina of white houses full of authenticity emerges and lacks impersonal souvenir shops.
One of Rabat’s key sights is the Hasan Tower, a 12th-century minaret designed to be one of the largest in the Islamic world and never completed. Next to it is the tomb of King Mohammed V. But Rabat has much more, such as the Kasbah of the Oudayas, inside which the white and blue houses are reminiscent of those of Chaouen or Asilah. Or on the outskirts of Chellah, a former Roman colony now inhabited by hundreds of storks.
In the afternoon and after lunch, you will pack your luggage to leave for Tangier. Dinner and night in a nice hotel.

Day 4 : Tangier -Chefchaouen

You have breakfast early in the morning and set off to discover Tangier, which happens to be one of the most common ports of entry into Morocco from Spain.
The influence of the Spaniards inhabited it until the early 1960s can be seen in the nooks and crannies, shops and posters. Although its white medina has been swept away by time and a certain carelessness that chipped the walls, there is still something that made it “the city of spies” at the beginning of the 20th century. It is recommended to visit the Dar El Mandoub museum, the old Kasbah that served as a palace to the Sultan of Tangier and to have a drink in the main square on April 9th. A very close and not bad excursion is to the caves of Hercules or Cape Spartel.
After an emotional day in Tangier, you will go to sleep in Chefchaouen, the blue city where you will take a lot of pictures, for sure!

Day 5 : Chefchaouen – Fes

Chefchaouen is, without a doubt, one of the most chosen destinations in Morocco. When talking about this urban nucleus, it is impossible not to come across the bright blue houses, so well known and photographed. Houses protected by the steep, green and brown landscape of the Rif mountains in northern Morocco.
It is also a mixture of cultures, particularly Andalusian and Islamic architecture. Thus, these blue houses show roofs of red tiles and keyhole-shaped doors or tile passages throughout the city.
After visiting this wonderful city, you take the road again in the direction of Fez. Finally arrive in Fez in the evening to sleep in a beautiful riad.

Day 6: Visit of Fez

Fez is one of the largest and busiest cities in Morocco. However, it still retains the charm of a small town. It has more than just important places to visit, such as its two ancient medinas. One of them, Fez el Bali, has been declared a World Heritage Site, thanks to its complex architecture with alleys, souks and courtyards.
Monumental mosques, tiled houses and large squares. All this makes the city of Fez an excellent example of Islamic architecture. The guide will make you discover the new city, the royal palace and lmelah where the Jews of Morocco lived. The old medina will be discovered the next day, there are so many things to discover in Fez that one day seems insufficient. You return to the Riad to rest, dine and sleep!
Day 7: Still in Fez

After a night in the riad, get ready to have breakfast and then leave to discover the medina. Admire the alleys that tell stories, the old mosques including the madrassa El Qarawyin which was built by a woman in 859 AD. You will also visit the Medrasa Bou Inania, Bab Boujloud and Batha and many more places of interest. You return to the Riad to spend the night and prepare for the morning trip to Merzouga.
Day 8: Fez – Merzouga

Let’s leave Fez to join Merzouga, an opportunity to rediscover the Sahara and the Berber culture. The inhabitants are so nice and friendly. A guide will propose you a camel ride to live an unforgettable experience in the sahara. You will spend the night in tents under the sky.

Day 9: Merzouga – Dadès

After waking up in the middle of the Sahara and admiring the sunrise, you climb on camels to return to Merzouga and head for the Dades Valley. This is the day when you will discover the breathtaking landscape of the High Atlas, several villages are to be discovered.

Day 10: Dades – Ouarzazate

Early in the morning, you leave the Dades Valley in the direction of Ouarzazate. On the way, you will admire the mountains and the gigantic rocks. You arrive at the end of the day in Ouarzazate to have dinner in a riad and sleep.

Day 11: Ouarzazate – Marrakech

Ouarzazate is one of the most visited cities in Morocco, it is known for its kasbahs and its incredible landscape. You will visit the studios where famous movies were filmed, take souvenir pictures to show your friends. You will have lunch in a restaurant and head to Marrakech.
Day 12: Visit Marrakech

The last day of the trip will take place in Marrakech, the most famous city in Morocco. The guide will take you to very popular tourist sites such as the Manara, garden of the majorelles, the koutoubia and jamaa lfna. We recommend that you ask for a tanjia at lunch time, it is the famous dish of Marrakech. You return to the Riad at the end of the day, it is your last night of this tour.
